Loretta L. West is the Chairperson of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC) of the South Jersey Combined Federal Campaign. The LFCC actually runs our CFC and is made up of Federal employees - employees just like Loretta and like you. The LFCC has several key leadership roles, including: determining the eligibility of charities listed in the 2011 Contributor’s Guide, overseeing the SJCFC to ensure Federal regulations are adhered to, and, to the extent possible, every Federal employee is given an informed opportunity to give through the CFC. Below, is a message to you from Loretta:
Ladies and Gentlemen::
As Chairperson of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC),
we are pleased to provide the oversight of this year’s South Jersey
Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The LFCC is the committee of
Federal employees who volunteer to conduct this campaign. We have
several key leadership roles, including determining the eligibility of
the local charities list in the 2011 Contributor’s Guide, ensuring that
the campaign adheres to all Federal regulations governing the CFC
and making certain that every Federal employee is given an informed
opportunity to give through the CFC.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the CFC, one of the most
effective and efficient channels for philanthropic giving. The CFC
gives Federal workers an accountable, flexible way to make
meaningful differences in the world by providing a wide range of
donation options. There are nearly 3,000 local, national and
international agencies listed in this year’s brochure and donors can
give by payroll deduction - the easiest way to give - or make a one-
time gift to the charity or charities of their choice.
Last year, the generous Federal employees in South Jersey made pledges totaling more than $889,000.00 to participating charities. The 2010 campaign was a huge success and we thank you for offering thousands of people help and hope in our local community, across the nation and around the world.
The CFC is one of the most successful charitable programs in history having raised more than $6 billion since 1961. We thank you for your commitment once again this year.
Sincerely,
Loretta L. West, MSgt, USAF / 2011 Chair
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst
The 50th Anniversary season of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) kicked off on October 3rd in South Jersey. The CFC is the only authorized solicitation of Federal employees in their workplaces on behalf of approved charitable organizations.
Federal employees continue to make the CFC the largest and most successful workplace philanthropic fundraiser in the world. Continuing a long-standing tradition of selfless giving, in 2010, Federal employees raised more than $280 million dollars for charitable causes around the world.
The CFC is the largest single-employer charity campaign in the South Jersey Area, and is home to more than 23,000 federal employees. More than 4,000 employees contributed and raised $889,000 for charitable causes in our community, throughout the country and around the world during the 2010 South Jersey CFC Campaign.
Give because it feels right. Give in memory of those lost and in hopes that others will be saved. Give because you can. Make this 50th Anniversary year an outstanding year – one that marks a new era that will endure the next 50 years.
